Schools have their hands full teaching children the basics like literacy and numeracy. But to provide the fully functioning workforce we need in 10-20 years, our children need to be self-reliant, intrinsically motivated, flexible and able to cope with uncertainty. We don’t know what the jobs of tomorrow will be so we need to equip the children of today with a love of learning, boundless drive and curiosity, plenty of empathy and excellent problem-solving skills. Most after school care and holiday programs are little more than child-minding services. The children who participate in them may have fun but they don’t generally learn a whole lot. But what if there was another option?
Nenoos programs are designed to be fun and they also fast-track children’s intellectual development, build their emotional intelligence and develop their body awareness. Many people think of after school care programs as just a babysitting service, but our after school care and holiday programs don’t just keep kids entertained while their parents are working, they build on preschool and school education to teach practical, real-life skills that set children up for success throughout their lives.
All our programs use Nenoos’s unique mind, body and emotion (MBE) method to provide a holistic education. This three dimensional approach to education was developed by our team of over 200 psychologists, educational psychologists and other education-related professionals. And not only that, but our methodology is constantly being updated to take advantage of the latest educational research.
We use a variety of games, activities and tools to train the mind. As an example, in our Nenoos 360 program we use a Soroban abacus (or Japanese abacus) and mental abacus to encourage manipulative learning — that is, ‘learning by doing’ — and visualisation skills.
We use a series of positions and movements which activate the areas of our students’ brains that control fine and gross motor skills. When used in combination with our other tools and techniques, this develops and strengthens complex neural networks within each child’s brain that ensure our students use both hemispheres of their brains harmoniously. This enables information to flow freely between the various functional centres of the brain and prevents ‘learning difficulties’.
We use activities such as role playing and debating to develop our students’ emotional intelligence. These tools help children identify, understand and manage their own emotions as well as the emotions of their peers. As a result, they develop empathy, better social skills and more effective communication skills.

Maria is a passionate primary school teacher who started working with children on summer camps when she was just 16. When it came time to choose a career path, she ran with her passion and since then, she’s worked in several countries including Spain, England and now Australia. Maria is an easy-going, friendly person who enjoys teaching and bringing out the best in her students. In her spare time, she loves spending time outdoors with her friends and teaching Spanish to her little charges.
