Welcome to Nenoos

Well-rounded children who reach their full potential

Nenoos Sydney supports holistic childhood development by running extracurricular activities that promote
cognitive, physical and emotional development.

For a number of years now, experts have been predicting that technological advances such as artificial intelligence, cloud technology and ubiquitous high-speed mobile internet will drastically change our workforce. As an example, a McKinsey Global Institute study predicts that automation could destroy 800 million jobs worldwide by 2030. No one knows what skills today’s children will need by the time they enter the workforce, so it’s critical that we take a holistic approach to education and focus on the widely applicable cognitive, physical and emotional skills that will enable them to rapidly learn the specific skills they’ll need when the time comes.

Developing job-ready adults

Since we don’t know what careers will be available when today’s children enter the job market, a holistic education needs to focus on natural talents and learned skills that can’t be replaced by machines and computers.

Cognitive Development

Machines are good at repetitive tasks and artificial intelligence (AI) is likely to be able to replace cognitive tasks that take us a second or less to perform. The cognitive talents and skills they aren’t likely to be able to replace any time soon, and which we must, therefore, promote in our children, include:

  • Problem-solving
  • Creativity
  • Critical thinking
  • Strategic thinking
  • Imagination
  • Vision
  • Ingenuity

Learning ability and support

Regardless of the direction our society heads, our children will always need to know how to efficiently assimilate new information and develop new skills — they will always need to know how best to support their own learning. And we don’t know what they’ll need to study, but there are a range of kinaesthetic abilities that will support their learning no matter what their education entails. The kinds of skills and abilities that our children will need include:

  • Body awareness
  • The ability to calm the nervous system
  • Physical assuredness in the form of good posture, strength, balance, coordination, resistance and flexibility
  • A love of learning
  • Well-developed language skills
  • Literacy
  • Numeracy

Emotional Intelligence

Computers don’t have empathy and when we communicate with them, we don’t feel like they truly understand us on an emotional level. But even if there are drastic improvements in this area, the jobs of the future are still likely to involve humans working together. In fact, it’s the solo jobs that are more likely to be replaced by robots and computers. So today’s children still need well-developed emotional intelligence and social skills and must learn skills like:

  • Empathy
  • Communication
  • Teamwork
  • An ability to deal with uncertainty
  • Self-awareness
  • Emotional management
  • Change management
  • Self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Respect for the abilities and opinions of others
  • A desire for continuous self-improvement

Extracurricular activities that use a unique, research-backed educational method

Here at Nenoos Sydney, we run tried and tested after-school programs that help thousands of children, families and teachers around the world. Our programs are specifically designed to develop these critical job-ready skills in children aged 0-16 years.

To do this, we use a unique educational method developed by a team of over 200 psychologists, educational psychologists and other professionals. Our Mind, Body, Emotion (MBE) method uses specially designed tools to develop our students’ talents, IQ, emotional intelligence, social skills and other cognitive and psychological skills. Our MBE method also incorporates a physical component in the form of educational kinesiology and yoga, which prepares our students’ brains to efficiently absorb and process information and helps each child relax and start every class feeling motivated and ready to learn.

Each of our programs focuses on specific goals. For instance, our Nenoos Entrepreneurs program develops critical creative-thinking and problem-solving skills, while Nenoos 360 hones attention, concentration and memory and develops strong math skills. And all our programs also help students become more:

Learning through play

Play-based learning supports children’s cognitive, emotional and physical development. We use play-based learning in our programs because it works, and it makes our programs fun for our students and our teachers. When teachers enjoy what they’re teaching, students are infected with their enthusiasm and joy and are instilled with a love of learning. When students participate in our extracurricular activities, they love every minute of each class because our programs are fun and our teachers all love using our unique educational methodology.

Children, families and teachers that have discovered the benefits and joys of Nenoos Sydney programs:

The program is fun, useful and effective. It exceeds my expectations! It is taught by professionals and its underlying philosophy respects children’s natural learning pace. It offers an alternative way of stimulating intelligence; it enhances teamwork and self-esteem…It’s awesome all the hard work and dedication behind the scene.

My kids love Nenoos, they ask to go as soon as they finish school. We are so satisfied!!!

Frequently asked questions

Nenoos has developed programs for children aged 0-16 years. At the moment we offer sessions for preschoolers (ages 3-5 years) and school-aged children (ages 6-13 years) within our Entrepreneurs and Nenoos 360 programs and we have an expanded offering coming soon. Visit our programs page for more details about our programs and the age groups they cover. From there, you can make a booking for current programs or submit an expression of interest for upcoming programs.
Children can participate in some of our programs at any time. We take enrolments for these programs all year round. For year-long programs like Nenoos 360, enrolments are open from November each year, or we can put your child on our waiting list at any time — just send us an email. You can also sign up for our newsletter and we’ll send you a reminder when enrolments open.
A growing body of research demonstrates that good-quality play-based learning programs can improve a child’s developmental learning outcomes as well as their academic performance. Such programs can also teach a wide range of critical life skills like problem-solving. Learning through play is also more fun for children so they’re more likely to be active learners and actually develop a love of learning that will stay with them throughout their lives. In the future, this section could link to a blog post about the benefits of play-based learning. Play-based learning also avoids many of the negative effects that can result from the direct-instruction programs that are commonly used in Australian primary schools.
In order to reach as many children as possible, we run our programs in schools, preschools and community facilities. If you visit our programs page, you can choose a program that you’re interested in and then see a list of current locations for that program.
We aim to help as many children as possible so we would love to run our programs in more schools. If you’re an educator, please get in touch and we’ll explore how we can partner with your school to bring our programs to your students. If you’re a parent or guardian, we encourage you to tell your child’s school about our programs . Alternatively, get in touch and we can let you know whether we’re currently running programs in a location that’s convenient for you and your child.
